Nutella lovers, you have got to try this easy Nutella Baked Oatmeal recipe! It's made in one bowl and takes 5 minutes to prep. I love making a batch of these baked oats at the beginning of the week so I've got breakfast meal prepped. All I need to do is microwave it every morning and enjoy! Plus, these Nutella baked oats need just 9 simple ingredients. I love serving these oats with an extra drizzle of melted Nutella and powdered sugar.

After making my Nutella waffles and Nutella overnight oats, you guys know I had to make Nutella baked oatmeal next! Gimme a spoon and some chocolate hazelnut spread and I am good to go.
As a breakfast lover who still loves a sweet treat, these Nutella baked oats are the perfect breakfast recipe for me! They only need a few minutes of hands-on time, and then the oats bake in the oven, so most of the time is spent waiting for them to finish baking!
Just like all my other baked oatmeal recipes, these Nutella baked oats are a breeze to make. Since they're made in just one bowl and you don't need any fancy equipment, it means there's hardly any clean up.
If you want even more baked oats recipes, you need to try my chocolate chip cookie baked oatmeal or peanut butter baked oatmeal! What can I say, I love baked oats in the morning!

ingredients you need
- Rolled Oats: make sure to use rolled oats or old-fashioned oats. They'll give us that chewy texture we're looking for! Quick oats might get too mushy while steel-cut oats need much longer time to soften up.
- Nutella: this one is kind of a must-have! You can swap it out for any other chocolate hazelnut spread though. I also love adding a little extra to the top of my baked oats just before serving.
- Milk: feel free to use regular milk or dairy-free milk.
- Maple Syrup: to add a touch of sweetness! You can swap it out for honey in a pinch. If you find the nutella to be sweet enough, you could also omit this entirely.
- Coconut Oil: I've tested this recipe with coconut oil but you can also use melted butter.
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
What even is Nutella?
Great question! What is this chocolate-y, nutty, creamy, delicious spread that everyone loves? Created in the 1960's in Italy, it's a hazelnut-chocolate spread that is sweet and nutty, and used in a variety of ways. It's used to spread on toast or waffles, or used in baked goods like muffins or oatmeal. Or if you're like me, it's just enjoyed straight out of the jar with a spoon. It's a great way to add a little chocolate touch to your breakfast and dessert!
How to make

This recipe is super easy (as are all of my baked oatmeal recipes)! All you need is one bowl and a whisk to whip this up quickly.
- Start by mixing the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- Add in the wet ingredients (including the nutella) and whisk until smooth. Nutella will seem hard to mix in at first, but keep going and it'll disperse!
- Pour the oat mixture into a baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes.
Once your baked oatmeal is baked and cool a little, scoop yourself a nice big serving into your favorite bowl and go to town on toppings (see ideas below).
Toppings & Mix Ins
- Drizzle of Warm Nutella - Because more nutella is never a bad idea!
- Chopped Hazelnuts - Enhance the nutella flavor with extra crunch.
- Chocolate Chips - Double the chocolate, double the fun!
- Banana Slices - A classic pairing with Nutella.
- Strawberries or Raspberries - Adds a fresh, tart contrast.
- Shredded Coconut - A hint of sweetness.
- Cinnamon or Espresso Powder - Deepens the chocolate flavor.
- Whipped Cream- Cause who doesn't love a creamy topping to their chocolate-y breakfast!

Storage and Reheating
Once cooled, keep the oatmeal in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. I like to reheat mine in the microwave but you can also reheat them in the oven. Top with more nutella if you're feeling indulgent!
To freeze, place in an airtight container and freeze for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the fridge overnight or at room temperature for a couple of hours before reheating.
