If you’re a peanut butter fan, this strawberry peanut butter banana smoothie was made for you! The combination of sweet strawberries, ripe banana, and creamy peanut butter is so good together. Honestly, the whole time I was making it all I could think about was how much it tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in smoothie form- in the best possible way!

It only takes 5 ingredients and 5 minutes to blend up, which makes it perfect for busy mornings. You can also toss in a scoop of protein powder if you want to make it a little more filling. This is one smoothie I find myself remaking over and over, it’s definitely one of my top makes in my favorite smoothie recipes!

Recipe Ingredients

A plate with banana and strawberries, plus bowls of milk, peanut butter, and yogurt—perfect ingredients for a strawberry peanut butter smoothie—all clearly labeled.

I used creamy natural peanut butter, but really any peanut or nut butter works in this recipe. Feel free to use more or less peanut butter than the recipe calls for, depending on how peanut butter-y you like it.

You can also customize your smoothie by add your favorite protein powder, adding a veggie like frozen spinach or riced cauliflower (promise you can’t taste it). You could even add more sweeteners like honey or maple syrup if you want your smoothie extra sweet. Not big on strawberries? Swap them for another berry you love like blueberries or raspberries.

Using Frozen Fruit In Smoothies

When I can, I always prefer to use frozen fruit when making smoothies. It keeps smoothies cold and refreshing without watering them down like ice can, plus it gives them that smooth, frosty texture you get from smoothie shops. Frozen fruit is also super convenient because it’s already washed and prepped, and since it’s picked at peak ripeness, it still has great flavor all year round.

5 Minutes (or Less) to Make

I love making smoothies because they always are so quick to whip up and perfect to take on the go. Making this smoothie couldn’t be easier-

  • Add frozen fruit to a blender, followed by peanut butter, yogurt, and milk. If using protein powder, add that in as well.
  • Blend until smooth. Add a splash of milk to thin out your smoothie if desired.
  • Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

A Good Blender Can Make or Break your Smoothies

Get yourself a good blender- I’ve had this high powered (but not too expensive) blender for years now and love it. You don’t need a super fancy or expensive blender, just one that will get everything blended together nicely. I like the blender I have because it’s perfect for making single servings, and it’s so easy to clean after!
