Recipe Ingredients

ingredients needed to make pineapple banana smoothie

This recipe is only 4 ingredients-

  • pineapple- you can use fresh or frozen. I prefer frozen because it makes my smoothie extra creamy and I don’t have to cut up a pineapple lol! If you buy fresh pineapple, toss it in the freezer before using it.
  • banana- I always keep extra bananas in the freezer specifically for smoothies.
  • yogurt- I use vanilla greek yogurt in my smoothie but really any yogurt will work great here. Extra points for a pineapple or banana flavored yogurt
  • milk- I use almond milk but you can use any milk you’d like!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: Add pineapple, banana, and yogurt to a blender. If using protein powder, add that as well. Add the milk, starting with 1/2 cup.

Step 2: Blend until smooth. Add more milk if needed to thin out your smoothie.

Tips and Tricks

  • Get yourself a good blender– I use this blender and love it. You don’t need a super fancy or expensive blender, just one that will get everything blended together nicely.
  • If possible, always use frozen fruit for smoothies. It makes them so much creamier! You can definitely still use fresh fruit though, although you will need to add some ice cubes to your smoothie.
  • Customize your smoothie- add protein powder, add a veggie like spinach or riced cauliflower, or toss in more sweeteners like honey or maple syrup.
  • If your smoothie is too thick, add more milk (or water). If your smoothie gets too thin, I blend in a couple of ice cubes to thicken it back up.

Storing & Freezing

If you are not consuming this smoothie right away, it can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for 2 days. I recommend mixing it up before drinking it.
