Blended Cottage Cheese is a perfect breakfast option, especially if you don't love the chunky texture of regular cottage cheese!
I'm not the biggest fan of the texture of cottage cheese, but I love yogurt so I figured if I blended the cottage cheese, I would have better chances of enjoying it! Turns out, I was right!
Blending your cottage cheese gives you a creamy, smooth texture much like yogurt. When testing this recipe I added a bunch of different fruits and mixed berries were definitely my favorite. I also added honey for sweetness since cottage cheese isn't sweet. Next time I will add maple syrup!
I have been adding cottage cheese to a lot of my recipes recently, be sure to check out my cottage cheese egg bake (you can't taste the cottage cheese at all), or my cottage cheese breakfast bowls!
Why You'll Love This Recipe
- It's a great high protein breakfast option that also tastes delicious
- There are a lot of ways to dress it up, see my topping ideas below
- If you don't love the texture of cottage cheese (I don't!) this is a great way to eat it, it reminds me of yogurt which I love!
- It's quick & easy, perfect for on the go or to pack for later
Ingredients
This recipe just needs cottage cheese! I use low fat cottage cheese but full fat would be great too. You can also buy small or big curd, it doesn't matter since it's all getting blended anyway!
My favorite brand of cottage cheese is Good Culture, it's so creamy and delicious!
How to Make
Add cottage cheese to a food processor.
Blend on high until smooth.
Topping Ideas
- Berries- strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
- Other fruits: pineapple, mangos, kiwi
- Sweetners- Honey, maple syrup, agave
- Nuts/seeds- sliced almonds, walnuts, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds
- Fresh mint
- Granola, coconut shreds or dried fruits like raisins, cranberries, or blueberries
- Make it savory with cucumbers, tomatoes, and hard boiled eggs!
Equipment I Used
I use this food processor to blend my cottage cheese. I have a mini food processor as well if you want to make a smaller batch. You could also use a blender.
How To Store
Store your blended cottage cheese in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. I would add any toppings directly before eating.
