White chocolate is one of my favorite flavors, so whenever I feel like indulging at Starbucks, this iced white chocolate mocha is my go-to! It's rich, creamy, and you really get that white chocolate flavor. This at-home iced white mocha is so easy to make and saves you time and money!
When I'm not drinking this, my other favorite Starbucks drink is the Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew. I drink iced coffee year-round, what can I say!
If you love white chocolate as much as I do, you should try my white chocolate raspberry cookies or my white chocolate chex mix.
Recipe Ingredients
Here are some notes on a few ingredients- please see the full ingredient list in the recipe card below!
- espresso- I use my Nespresso machine to brew espresso and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a good machine! You can also use a classic espresso machine, or if you have neither you can swap for instant coffee (a dark roast). It won't give you the same flavor profile, but it works if you don't have espresso.
- white chocolate sauce- I used Ghirardelli white chocolate sauce for this recipe. I also tested it with white chocolate syrup (the kind you buy for coffees/drinks) and didn't love the taste. The chocolate sauce was much better. You could also use white chocolate chips.
- milk- I tested this recipe using whole milk, but you can use whatever milk you'd like.
- whipped cream- Homemade whipped cream is so easy to make, and it's delicious! I have instructions on how to make a small portion in the recipe card below. You can also use store-bought whipped cream or skip it altogether.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Brew 2 shots of espresso. After brewing, while it's still hot, stir in 2-3 tablespoon of white chocolate sauce until blended.
Step 2: Fill a glass with ice. Pour espresso mixture over ice. Then top with milk. Mix to combine. Top with homemade or storebought whipped cream
Step 3: If making homemade whipped cream for topping- Using an electric mixer, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar on high speed until stiff peaks form (about 2-3 minutes).
Frequently Asked Questions
This recipe makes 1 serving, enough for 1 medium-sized mocha (or a grande in Starbucks language). You can double the ingredients to make 2!
You can! I didn't enjoy the taste of the white chocolate syrup compared to the sauce, but if you enjoy it then use it!
You can also make your own white chocolate sauce by heating 1 cup of milk in a small saucepan until lightly steaming. Remove from heat and add ¼ cup of white chocolate chips. Stir until fully melted & combined. This will make extra sauce, so you can store it in an airtight container.
You can use instant espresso powder or regular instant coffee, preferably a darker roast. Just know that instant coffee doesn't taste as rich as espresso does. If you're looking for another iced drink that doesn't use espresso, my salted caramel cold brew is delicious!
Tips and Tricks
- Make sure to mix in the white chocolate syrup while the espresso is still hot. This will allow it to completely mix in before pouring it over ice.

Storing & Freezing
If you don't plan on drinking this iced white mocha right away, then it can be stored in a glass with a lid in the fridge for 2-3 days. Top with whipped cream when ready to drink.
