If you’ve never made homemade whipped honey butter before, you’re in for a treat. This easy 2-ingredient recipe transforms butter and honey into a light, fluffy spread that’s rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet. It’s delicious slathered on warm toast, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, muffins, and just about anything else in your breakfast lineup. Ready in just a few minutes with a hand mixer or stand mixer, this homemade whipped honey butter is the easiest way to make your brunch spread shine.

Homemade butter is my new obsession, and for good reason. I’m a big butter supporter and I think that butter can enhance basically anything. This whipped honey butter is everything you’d dream it to be- rich but still light & fluffy, sweet but still salty. As soon as I whipped this up I was thinking about what type of homemade pancakes or waffles I could make to add this butter on top.
The best part? It only takes 2 ingredients, and comes together in just a few minutes with a hand or stand mixer. It’s one of those simple homemade recipes that looks impressive but couldn’t be easier to make. Once I started making my own flavored butters, I wondered why I hadn’t been doing it my whole life.

Only 2 Ingredients
All you need for this recipe is a stick of butter and honey- that’s it! I recommend using a high-quality butter for the best results, it really makes a difference in a recipe like this. My all-time favorite butter is kerrygold- nothing compares!
If you can find some local honey to your region, I also recommend using that. Grab your favorite flavored honey for this recipe as well- I recently bought some blueberry honey from my local farmers market and will definitely be trying that next time I make this. No honey? Swap for maple syrup!
If you’re using unsalted butter, don’t forget to add a pinch of salt to the bowl!

Whipped Up Easily
I love making any sort of flavored butter because it’s not only delicious, but it’s so incredibly easy and adds that punch of flavor that everyone loves. This recipe is no exception!
- Start by adding the honey and softened butter to a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer.
- Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, whip the two together until fluffy, mine took about 3 minutes.
- Transfer the butter to a glass jar and serve on your favorite toast, pancakes, or muffins!
Mix It Up
Looking to spice up your butter a bit? Is your favorite restaurant butter is Texas Roadhouse? Just add 3/4 tsp of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla extract to this recipe to get a whipped cinnamon honey butter instead. My brown sugar cinnamon butter is similar but uses brown sugar instead of honey- give it a try!

Serving Honey Butter
The best part of a homemade butter recipe is that it is delicious on basically everything you could make for breakfast or brunch! Here’s a few ideas to try:
- pancakes- cornbread pancakes or buttermilk pancakes– really any recipe you can’t go wrong.
- toasted bread- I love slathering it on some homemade sourdough!
- waffles
- muffins- pro tip on muffins: cut them in half, toast them in a pan on the oven, and add this butter to each half. It’s life changing. I’d do this on my moist banana chocolate chip muffins.
- french toast- like my favorite brioche french toast
- bagels- this on a cinnamon raisin bagel is elite.
- biscuit or scones
