As a breakfast & baking recipe developer, I’m constantly thinking of ways to elevate my next brunch gathering. Simple recipes like this Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter is one that will go a long way, with little to no effort. You only need 3 ingredients and basically 3 minutes to make this, and it truly takes your baked goods to the next level.

Wether your spreading this on a freshly baked slice of homemade sourdough (like I did while writing this post), using it on top of warm & toasted banana chocolate chip muffins, or spreading it on a classic stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes, this butter is going to make you keep coming back for more!

Only 3 Ingredients Needed

This is quite literally the easiest recipe on my blog- needing only 3 ingredients makes this recipe quick and simple.

  • I use unsalted butter for this recipe and add a pinch of salt, but feel free to use your favorite salted butter as well! Just omit the pinch of salt if using salted butter.
  • Brown sugar can be light or dark, whichever is your preference.

Less Than 5 Minutes to Make

Making homemade flavored butters is so incredibly easy, I don’t know why I don’t do it more often!!

All you have to do is add the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to a bowl. Using an electric hand mixer, or a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar for 1-2 minutes. You want a light and fluffy consistency! If you want a more of a whipped butter texture, use a whisk attachment on your stand mixer.

Remove from the bowl and place into a jar for later use. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!

What Should I Spread This Butter On?

The real question is, what can’t you spread this butter on!! Just kidding (sort of), but there are so many delicious things you can use this brown sugar butter on-

  • Spread on warm toast, english muffins, biscuits, or bagels (my vote is for cinnamon raisin toast)
  • Melt over pancakes, waffles, or a stack of brioche French toast
  • Slather on homemade muffins, banana bread, pumpkin bread, or zucchini bread. I love to toast my muffins or breads on the stove top to get them warm and crispy!
  • Stir into a warm bowl of oatmeal or cream of wheat
  • Use on warm scones or coffee cake
