Buttery, crumbly, and incredibly easy to make, this homemade streusel topping is the perfect finishing touch for muffins, coffee cakes, crisps, and pies. It’s made with simple pantry staples, comes together in under 5 minutes, and adds the best sweet crunch to any baked good. Plus no pastry cutter required!
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
1 cup all-purpose flour, ½ cup light brown sugar, ⅓ cup granulated sugar, ¼ tsp salt, 1 tsp cinnamon
After melting your butter and allowing it to cool down a bit (about 10 minutes), add to the flour mixture. Gently mix this up with a fork, making sure to incorporate the butter throughout without overmixing. You want some big chunks in there!
6 tbsp unsalted butter
Refrigerate the mixture until ready to use on your favorite muffins, pies, fruit crumbles, and cakes!
