Ingredients

  • ½ cup old fashioned oats
  • ½ tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup mashed banana plus extra slices for topping
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional

Instructions

  • In a jar or bowl, mix together the oats, chia seeds, and cinnamon.
    ½ cup old fashioned oats, ½ tablespoon chia seeds, 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Stir in the milk, banana, and maple syrup until well combined.
    ½ cup milk, ¼ cup mashed banana
  • Cover with a lid and place in the fridge for at least 5 hours, preferably overnight for the best texture.
  • In the morning, give it a good mix before eating. Top with chia seeds and sliced bananas.

Notes

  • Keep the overnight oats covered in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. Mix before enjoying.
  • You can eat these cold oats straight out of the fridge or heat in the microwave
  • Can be frozen for up to 2 months. To defrost, allow to sit in the fridge overnight. If the oats are dry add a splash of milk.
