Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoon unsalted butter melted & cooled slightly
  • cup nutella
  • ½ teaspoon oil vegetable or canola

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. To this, add in the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix until fully combined.
  • In a separate microwave-safe bowl, mix together the nutella and the oil and microwave for about 30 seconds, just enough to make the nutella thinner and easy to pour.
  • Following the directions on your waffle maker, measure the amount of batter directed into the waffle iron (my mini waffle maker uses about ¼ cup of batter). Drizzle as much nutella on top of the batter as you want, and then take a spoon and gently swirl it into the batter. Close the waffle maker and cook as instructed (times will vary depending on what kind of waffle maker you own).
  • Serve the waffles with an extra drizzle of nutella, whipped cream, maple syrup, powdered sugar, strawberries, or anything else you enjoy!

Notes

*This serving size & nutrition facts is for a MINI waffle maker- this one specifically. Serving size and nutrition will vary depending on how big your waffle maker is.
  • To keep warm- preheat your oven to 200° F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Keep the waffles in the oven as you cook them to keep them warm for serving.
  • Don't overmix the batter- Over mixing your waffle batter will cause the gluten in the flour to develop and get tougher, leaving you with chewy waffles which is not what we want!
